Panoramic view produced using the Nodal Ultimate R10 Ring Mount pano head kit
We recently toured some of the sights on the Greek Island of Kos, and stopped by this famous tree in Kos Town to produce the panorama above.
Legend has it that the father of medicine Hippocrates taught his pupils under a plane tree on this site. The present tree (seen above, supported by a scaffold) is reputed to be over 500 years old. Whatever the story, the shade is a nice place to be when the temperature is 35º+!
We photographed this panorama using the Nodal Ninja UR10 Business kit. Our technique was to take photos at 90º intervals, giving 4 points of the compass for a full rotation.
Example Image thumbnails:
Images were stitched with 'PTGui Pro' and then published for web and mobile viewing using the Pano2VR software to produce the panorama above in both FLASH and HTML5 formats, with this page scripted to present the correct version depending upon which platform/browser/device you are using to view.
Hardware checklist for producing this panorama:
Sigma 8mm Fish-eye lens. Canon 550D 'crop frame' DSLR camera. Nodal Ninja UR10 Business kit mounted to EZ Leveller MKII ('Easy Leveller') onto tripod.
