Panoramic view produced using the Nodal Ninja Pole System.
We were lucky enough to visit Lotherton Hall, near Leeds in August 2012 for the annual Porsche Festival.

We shot a few panoramas between the thunderstorms using the Pole system 1 mounted with a ring mount panorama head using the Sigma 8mm fish-eye lens mounted to a 'crop frame' DSLR. Our technique for these shots was 4 photos take around at 90 degree intervals, remotely triggering the camera with the GigTube wireless control and viewfinder. Winds were fairly light, so we simply rotated the pole for each shot and then watched the pole shadow on the ground until the camera 'settled' (this is preferable to looking up at the camera, as apart from causing a stiff neck, the movement of the clouds above makes it tricky to confirm the camera is not moving!).

One of the great things with the pole system is that even when not fully extended it is a great quick way to photograph your panorama from a viewpoint above head height, effectively seeing the full view without people in the way...
Images were stitched with 'PTGui Pro' and then published for web and mobile viewing using the Pano2VR software to produce the panorama above in both FLASH and HTML5 formats, with this page scripted to present the correct version depending upon which platform/browser/device you are using to view.
Hardware checklist for producing this panorama:
Sigma 8mm Fish-eye lens. Canon 450D camera. Nodal Ninja Ultimate UR10 panorama head with 5º upward tilt. Pole System 1 with Tripod Clamp Kit B (mounted to sturdy tripod!). Mounted to the base of the pole we used the Pole Rotator
Thanks again to the Porsche Club for making us welcome.
